Mikkelin Passarit

30 years of volleyball — a digital party experience that brings the community together.

Summary

Creative Code was offered the opportunity to take a stand on the comprehensive event marketing and visual identity design of Volleyball Team Mikkelin Passareien's 30th anniversary celebration event. The aim was to make the event not only a significant highlight of the club's jubilee year, but also a modern and experiential sporting event that strengthens the sport's appeal and the club's role in the South Savo region.

We were responsible for the creation of the event website, the design and implementation of the marketing campaign and its multi-channel implementation: organic and paid visibility on social media, newsletters, media releases and collaborations with local media reached a wide audience. In addition, we implemented the event day light and video documentation — including lifting videos, post-communication materials, and social media clips that remained alive even after the event.

The resulting event, which was praised for its professional look and experiential execution, and was nominated The most exciting sports event of the year 2024 at the Etelä-Savo Sports Gala category.

Branding

Festive flair for the event's brand look

The project started with the definition of a brand strategy, based on which we created our own visual look for the event by listening to the wishes of the customer: the party logo, colour scheme, typography and visual applications were built to support Passareien's value-driven and community identity. The visual look of the event was launched through various channels and worked seamlessly across all materials — from social media content to Passarit party mugs and event installations.

Websites

Website oozing sports drug for 30-year-old sports club

Mikkelin Passarit needed a website for their festive event that would serve as both an information channel for the event and an extension of the club's brand. The goal was to create a platform that presents the event program, enables ticket sales and provides information about the venue. In addition, the site came to reflect the values and history of the club, as well as attract new visitors and collaborators.

As a result

The end result was the creation of a website that catered to the event needs, and strengthened Mikkelin Passarit's digital presence and brand. In addition, it met all the goals set: Clear navigation and informative content ensure a smooth user experience (UX) and a visually unified look combines the club's brand and event atmosphere (UI). Attention was also paid to the device-specific functionality of the site, i.e. responsiveness. When considering content management, we came to Webflow platform from a customer point of view, due to the ease of updating its content quickly and easily. Search engine optimization ensured the discoverability of the site.

Social Media

Strategic and multi-channel approach significantly increased reach

Creative Code was responsible for the social media marketing of Mikkeli Passareide's 30th anniversary in a holistic way — from strategy to content. We built a targeted social media strategy and a separate content plan for the event that made effective use of the club's existing Instagram and Facebook accounts, both organically and through paid advertising.

Social media content management was carried out in close collaboration with the club's communications: Creative Code focused on event brand visibility and marketing, while the club continued day-to-day content production. This ensured a versatile, timely and tactical use of the channels. Parallel communication and cross-posting with stakeholders increased the reach even more.

Our strategic and multi-channel approach resulted in significant reach, increased brand awareness and increased audience activity. The collaboration with Mikkelin Passareiden and Stamenio laid a solid foundation for the club's future social media communication and event marketing development.

Photo and video production

The result is a visually intact and technically high-quality ensemble

In photo and video production, the goal was to create a visually high-quality, multi-channel content package that documents the impact and atmosphere of the event — and serve as an asset for the club's marketing and branding efforts in the future.

The production was designed on a multi-camera principle. We took advantage of multiple shooting points and angles: static tripod cameras captured the general views and the structure of the event, while handheld shooting and moving cameras captured reactions, details and experiences from the field and from the stands. In doing so, we ensured a dynamic and multidimensional outcome that lives in the rhythm of the event.

Media visibility

Media visibility that reinforced the impact of the event

In support of event communication, we produced a targeted media bulletin, the content of which was designed to exceed the news threshold and arouse the interest of regional media. We take care of the structure of the bulletin, the journalistic tone and its distribution to local media contacts.

As a result of the cooperation, the event gained prominence in the main regional media source: Länsi-Savo published news of the event in a print magazine and online, which strengthened the event's notoriety and supported Passareien's position as a regional sports player.

Media visibility was an important part of the event's multi-channel impact -- and successfully increased the coverage of event communications among audiences and stakeholders.

The event was successful and a great, well-organized ensemble. Great setting and exciting atmosphere. Some were well executed and visible, professionally produced. Similarly, the rest of the material - it also made it easier to follow. It was good that responsibility had been shared between different parties. -- There is no taking for granted in events like this, where one party is a non-event operator acting on a voluntary basis 🙂
