Outdated layout and challenging usability
The previous websites of Karting's Finnish championship series no longer met today's needs. The site had not been updated for a long time, and as a result, both its layout and structure had lagged behind existing online services. The visual look was outdated, and there were several development targets in the structure of the site.
The different content sections did not distinguish each other clearly enough, which made it difficult to perceive the whole of the site. In some places, the structuring of textual contents also made finding information unnecessarily laborious. From the user's point of view, key information was not always easily discoverable without extensive browsing.
Full site overhaul
The website overhaul specifically focused on three key areas: layout, usability and maintainability.
A new site was built Webflow platform, which allowed the site to be built on a fast schedule, but in an elegant way. The visual appearance of the site was comprehensively redesigned. Appearance has a significant impact not only on the user experience, but also on how the activity looks outwardly. The aim of the revamp was to create a modern and clear look that would support the development of Karting's SM series and communicate the series' professionalism.
At the same time, the structure and navigation of the site were developed to make key information easier to find. The visualization of the content was improved by visual means, and important entities — such as competitions, score status and registration — were raised to a more prominent role than before. The goal was to reduce unnecessary browsing and make it easier for the user to access essential information.
The overhaul also paid attention to technical implementation and maintainability. The site was built on a platform where updating content occurs visually: the administrator directly sees what is being edited. The race calendar was implemented as a dynamic whole, so that some of the functions work automatically and it is easy to update the calendar. This also allows for competition-specific pages to which a wider range of event-specific content can be added.

The end result is a modern, clear and easily updated website
With the revamp, Karting's Finnish championship series now has a modern, clear and user-friendly website. The look of the site conforms to current web standards and supports the visibility and credibility of the series.
The key information is easy to find, and the structure of the site naturally guides the user to different types of content. Competitions, score status and registration are clearly displayed, and more diverse content can be produced on event-specific pages.
As a whole, the new site provides a functional and long-lasting foundation for Karting's Finnish championship series of digital communications.
